Mariah Leigh Godes has become a familiar face to many as she is seen shopping in a local market in the television advertisement for the Alaska based organization Ready Care.  She is known here at the Dimond Athletic Club as the friendly, bright smiling, blonde young lady we greet several times a week, and is now recognized as Member of the Month September / October 2010.

Mariah boasts “I really like fitness!”  In the past year she has progressed from simply playing around in the gym surroundings to actually becoming involved in a structured physical fitness routine.  Mariah works out usually twice a week in the Dimond Athletic Club and twice a week at “Brand X”, where she even has a personal trainer.  The Aquatic Stroke Fitness Class at the Dimond Athletic Club is a highlight for Mariah, while the   recumbent bicycle, the treadmill, and weight training are among her favorite forms of exercise.

The Dimond Athletic Club is a comfortable haven for Mariah.  She has been a member for over a year now and has made many new acquaintances in that time period.  The Dimond Bowl privileges are utilized by Mariah on a regular basis; she has a bowling average of over 100.

The maintenance of a solid work out schedule and regime that she is contented with is the long term goal for Mariah.  A lifestyle choice to consistently consume a healthy diet is quite important to her as well; one meal that Mariah enjoys most would include a turkey and spinach wrap.  Well everyone has their weakness, so where does Mariah go to indulge her palate?  None other than the notorious Arctic Roadrunner for a cheeseburger, french fries or onion rings and a diet Coca-Cola.  But this serves only as a special treat...

Mariah is an Alaskan Girl, born in October 1981 and raised in Soldotna.  She has been a resident of Anchorage for over one year and is currently employed part-time by Inlet Towers in the Environmental Services department.  When not at her job, Mariah likes reading and spending time in the outdoors.  In addition, she takes full advantage of the DayHab services provided by Ready Care.  She enjoys a multitude of activities, including going to the library and movies, as well as attending a variety of special events and functions.

Excitement abounds for Mariah as her companion, Brian, recently proposed to her.  They have known one another since childhood when they met in their gymnastic class.

Again, the management and staff of the Dimond Athletic Club would like to congratulate Ms. Mariah, and we all do extend our wishes for a lifetime of health and fitness.
